Early Easter

On Palm Sunday we celebrated Easter early with Jimmy's family and Laura. The day went just perfect - we dyed eggs, hid plastic eggs, had a dinner together and basically had a wonderful day. The girls were so funny when we dyed the eggs. Lily kept saying she didn't want to dye eggs (best when read with a very whiny voice) and I said, you don't want to make the eggs different colors? Then she stopped and said OH! Yes! Poor thing had no idea what I was talking about. Then each girl had a cup with dye and Izzy dropped her egg in, stared down at the egg and said so seriously "dye dye dye" I had used a crayon and put their initial on each one so when the eggs came out they had their letter in white so the girls were very impressed by the magic eggs that knew the letter of their name. The egg hunt was also a hoot - we had one hunt inside and they were such perfect little angels - giving each other their favorite colored eggs, showing each other where eggs were - it was too sweet. Then we had a hunt outside. Izzy and Audrey spotted the first egg at the same time and took out running. Izzy got there first and grabbed up the egg and Audrey let out a scream that neighbors a block away heard. She was heartbroken! Then Maranda showed her there was another one right behind her and the screams and tears stopped immediately and she ran for it. It was a great day.

March for Babies 2011

March for Babies this year did not start out the best - it was cold and windy and five minutes after I arrived I was ready to leave. But I stuck it out and as the morning went along the wind died down and the sun was bright and things improved greatly. I was most happy that I exceeded my goal for the March by $50. My friends and family came through with $350 and I think that is amazing. The March of Dimes has done wonderful work for premature babies and Lily especially is living proof.

Bluebonnets in Texas

Each year Stacy takes pictures of the kids in bluebonnets that grow wild along the highways in Texas. This year's came out really great.

Vests for girls

I knitted vests for the girls made from Red Heart Baby Clouds yarn. This yarn is not a lot of fun to work with but works up fast. The vest only took a couple of evenings each. The girls look very cute in them.
